Canoe is type of boat that is small and light boat with pointed edge and comes with paddle and some also with motors. The canoe is made of different large log with different designs depending of its use.

Canoe was developed over a thousands of years ago by the native people of North America. The word “Canoe” is from the word “kenu” that means “dugout“. Though canoeing is considered a sport, it was also considered as means of transportation in history.

The native people of North America uses canoe to travel between island. Throughout the century, building canoe also evolved from large logs to aluminum and fiberglass canoes.

2. Stern
3. Hull
4. Seat
5. Thwart
6. Gunwale
7. Deck

This are the common part of canoe. There are other optional features of a modern canoe such as:

2. Keel
3. Flotation Bags
4. Spraydeck
5. Painter’s ring
6. Skid Plate

There are many ways to build a canoe. All you have to do is to choose which of these ways are easy for you. But I tell you, building a boat is never easy. It can be tiring but once you’re done building your boat, it can be fun and a great accomplishment.
